Salsa Dance Instructor &Performer

Luifer/Luis was born in Venezuela , a country of Salsa. He received his bachelors in computer science in 1992 and  most recently attained a degree in outdoor recreation management at Capilano College in 2000. In 1995 Luifer began to share his passion for Salsa by teaching his own personal style, which he calls 'romantic Salsa'. Luis has been dancing Salsa and others Latin dances for over 20 years and taught it since 1995 in the Vancouver Area, and has spread his style in clubs worldwide. Luis has developed his personal style and form of this dance by traveling and dancing around the world.

His artistic talents also shine as a musician, singer and composer. He performs these talents on a regular basis at various restaurants, clubs and theatres around Vancouver . Luis currently teaches and performs at several locations around Vancouver Area and he has appeared on TV programs, movies, newspapers and big shows on several occasions. As a Salsa instructor Luifer always provides his students with a memorable and unique experience but he recommends that everyone visit the various locations where Salsa dance instruction is offered and inquire about the different instructors. You will find that each will have a personalized method of teaching and dancing, so you must choose the one that best suits your style. Luis is one of the best known and preferred instructors in Vancouver ; all you have to do is just ask around.

Beginner Lessons, Learning the Art of Connection:
Beginner salsa lessons is designed for those who are absolute beginners, who have either never danced or danced very little.  Learn the basic steps and rhythms, partner lead & follow, turns and styling. With 2 instructors you are able to learn at your own pace. A new combination each class, with styling and basic technique. No previous experience or partner necessary.

Intermediate Salsa Music and Motion in Combination:
This class is a continuation of material learned in Beginner Salsa.  If you are at this level, you should be confident in all lead & follow basics.  These classes are open to anyone who has had some experience with the basic and intermediate steps. These classes covers a mixture of basic dance moves and more complex moves and combinations.  A huge focus on timing and position is also introduced.
No partner necessary.

Men’s and Ladies Styling Tricks and Dips:
All the fun stuff of Salsa dancing, learn at your own pace. 2 instructors will lead you through a variety of moves. Each class you will learn styling techniques and how to communicate with your partner to do simple and some more intricate dips and tricks, some for performance style and some for the social dance floor. Learn when to use them and how to execute them well. class is a a series of intricate and fun to learn moves that will take your dancing skills to a new level. However, most of the moves learned in this class are not recommended as leadable moves in a social dance situation.  No partner necessary. Dance experience required.

Private lessons : 
Private lessons are beneficial for several types of dancers:

• The more advanced dancer who is no longer challenged with the level taught in group classes.
• The beginning dancer who does not work well with the speed of instruction in group classes.
• The dancer who would like more one-on-one interaction with the instructor, and more training specific to the dancer's needs.
• The enthusiastic dancer who wants to learn quickly in a more intensive environment.
